58 years ago, this thought was one of the most important motives for starting Bolidt: to provide the future with innovative applications in synthetics. 28 February 1964: two 30-year-old men named Bol and Schmidt decide to start their own business and establish Bolidt Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van Kunststoffen en Bouwwerken. Both entrepreneurs had previously worked at Sikkens. One of them had a background in civil engineering, the other in chemistry.
Now, 58 years on, this thought still drives us at Bolidt, as we continually think about shaping the future with synthetics as the main ingredient. It is our mission to replace traditional materials in order to make a contribution to a better living and natural environment in the areas of safety, sustainability, energy & data, design and hygiene.
To maximise our innovative capacity, we develop, produce and apply our synthetic systems ourselves; a unique integrated value chain. Bolidt synthetic systems can be found in the form of industrial flooring, marine decking, sports flooring and surface courses in non-residential and road construction. These systems meet the specific mechanical, chemical, electrical and aesthetic demands of the markets. Bolidt employs its own application teams to carry out a wide range of projects throughout the world. Its main customer base consists of locally and internationally active companies, contractors and government organisations. We work in close contact with architects and consultants.
