Semi-elastic fabric-based conveyor belts (EL belts)

Semi-elastic conveyor belts are ideally suited for use on lines with short center distances or on conveyor belt lines without control and tensioning devices. Safe operation can even be guaranteed on "undersquare" conveyors (width > center distance).

These belts with semi-elastic fabric are blue with a hygienic TPU coating and a matte or an inverted pyramid pattern on the surface:

  1. EL 0/U2 MT-HACCP blue FDA (art. no. 906891)
  2. EL 0/U3 NP-HACCP blue FDA (art. no. 900458)

Both EL types comply with FDA and EU requirements for belts in direct contact with foodstuffs. In the food segment, the new types are used where center distances are short, or on conveyors without any control devices or take-up units. Examples of this are short and wide transfer belts in the bakery industry, belts for check-weighers or detection systems.

The special, single-ply fabric design with elastic warp threads excels in ensuring the belt keeps on track and even compensates for minor conveyor adjustment errors. The belts’ frequent use in the bakery industry has shown that the special fabric design prevents any weft thread distortion so that the belts can be correctly tracked and centered. The belts will even operate reliably on very short conveyors (width>center distance), particularly in the dough-processing industry. If tapered-cylindrical end drums are used, no underside profiles to guide the belt are required and therefore no profile grooves in rollers and slider beds either. For OEMs, this is a key factor in terms of cost savings. If the belts are fitted pre-tensioned (1.5 - 5.0%), no take-up unit is necessary.
