Dramatic effects are to be expected with the increase on meals from currently 7% to 19%VAT. This affects the entire sector of bakeries, pastry shops, cafes, coffeebars, snack providers & gastronomy with seating area, parts of catering, industry & trade.

According to DEHOGA estimates, this could destroy 12,000 existences in the gastronomy nationwide, among others. In 23 European Union countries meals are taxed uniformly, only not in Germany! It is about preservation of cultural assets & diversity!
