The price spiral was triggered by speculators who entered the psyllium business in a big way following the entry of psyllium on the Indian stock exchange NCDEX and withheld significant volumes from the market. Since demand from large overseas buyers has decreased, putting pressure on prices, we have been observing sharply falling quotations for a few days.
We currently expect prices to pick up again as demand increases.
