Back Star Contest 2023 – baking competition for young stars in the baking industry

The winner of this years Back Star Contest will be announced at 3pm on Sunday, 22nd October during the awarded ceremony at the Speakers Area (Hall B1, 567). Join us in celebrating the Back Star 2023!

During the first day of the IBA the winner of the popular Back Star contest will be awareded. Only one of the 4 finalists will bring the thophy  home along with the prize money of 2.000€.

Back Star is a creative recipe competition for bakery and confectionary apprentices in Germany and Austria. Taking place for the 17th time, the contestants were called upon submitting their recipes for this years themes "vegan heartbreaker" and "keep it simple".

    The four finalists are:

    Fiona Eder from Tafelzier GmbH with her recipe „Frühlingsgefühle“

    Fabienne Gehrke from  Die Nascherei with her recipe „Himmelsgipfel“

    Levi Hoban from Cafe Wien with his recipe „Golden Layer Buns“

    Josephine Jachmann from Kaffee Wippler with her recipe „Mandeliges Engelsbirnchen“.
