MIWE was founded in 1919 by Michael Wenz in the Franconian city of Arnstein, Germany, and produces baking technology for the global market at two locations in Germany.
The company is well-known worldwide for its competence and experience in the areas of climate-controlled baking process stages (baking, refrigerating, proofing, freezing), automation technology, realisation of energy-efficient bakeries and plant construction.
As the inventor of in-store baking (at that time publicised as “sight and scent” baking), MIWE revolutionised the baked goods market from the 1970s onwards. Sabine Michaela Wenz, the third generation of the founder’s family, has been managing the growing company since 2002.
With nine subsidiaries (in the USA, Canada, Russia, Austria, France, Italy, Singapore, Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates) as well as 50 representative offices, MIWE is at home all over the world and therefore always close to its customers.
